This is a first edition, custom baguette bag for L’Appartement 4F. Each bag is designed, cut, and sewn by Carly Dean in Switzerland. A batch of four bags is constructed from exactly one meter of fabric without producing any scraps, making the collection 100% zero waste. The fabric is a sustainable, Oeko-Tex certified European laundered linen, produced in small batches in a mill run on green energy.
- Wrapper is inspired by the twisted plastic wrapper surrounding traditional hard candies. The end of the bag is gathered and smocked by hand, using a technique often reserved for sleeves and collars.
- Icing is inspired by the piping bag used to apply icing onto pastries. Its tapered end is designed to snugly fit the tapered end of the baguette.
- Corset uses hand-applied grommets and Japanese wool thread to reference a corset. The design allows for the bag to expand at the middle to accommodate the baguette’s widest part.
- Window is a playful and reusable version of the generic bakery bag made from parchment paper with a plastic-covered window. It’s for showing off your baguette, while keeping it safe.
